Why am I watching the NASA channel?

There are some things in this world that I hate more than rude customer service people. One of which is not being able to watch cable TV (it should be a god given right), and last night I was given a healthy serving of both.

On Monday, I called and spoke with someone at AT&T about our bill. They credited me some fees and told me what was left of the bill. Later that evening I tell Eddie, he pays it online, so it should be hunky dory. What followed was not.

For some reason or another we never turned on the television Tuesday (it's Summer what good shows are on?) and come Wednesday, I turn it on to find that my screen is telling me how to pay my bill. I immediately leap for my phone, it was 6:30 and they close at 7, and dial the number. After a few moments of holding I was talking to someone and they have zero idea what they are doing and transfer me.

This was the first of 5 transfers, not one time did someone say to me, hold please, I'm transferring you, NOTHING. So, by the time I got to lucky agent number 6 I was pissed.

She did not seem to know how to even look at my bill. After carefully explaining why I was calling, she had the balls to tell me it was my fault the TV was out. EXCUSE ME?!? I paid my bill, I handed over my hard earned bucks for you to provide me with entertainment, SO DANCE MONKEY DANCE!!

At this point, I got very curt and told her to transfer me to someone with the ability to do their job( aka look at my bill in the BILLING DEPARTMENT), and she did. Not to a place that didn't exist. So when I hung up guess what time it was? 7:15, AT&T billing is closed then, so when I call back I get a recording.

Let's just say I did not take this lightly, who would with SYTYCD coming on, and I found a number I knew would be open. Thankfully someone in the tech department, not billing, fixed my problem. All was right with the world for a little bit, even if it took till 8:30 to resolve my problem.

Can I say that if I was to ever meet that women who transferred me to La La Land, she better run. I've worked in some facet of customer service my whole life, and I know it sucks, and can make you wanna punch a baby. BUT YOU ARE NEVER RUDE TO THE PEOPLE WHO PAY YOU MONEY. Why? They pay your salary.

So for now I'll take the high road; calling and filling a complaint with AT&T about her. I know her name, and to look up my file was logged into it so now AT&T does too. After the earful they got from me I hope so has fun working at McDonald's.

Never separate a pop culture junkie from her source.

In other exciting news, I started my new job today. It'll be fun filled indeed, stay tuned.
